Astrology, a place in chaos
by Bernadette
Brady (Paperback, Wessex Astrologer, UK 2006, 178 pages. )
The marriage of chaos theory with astrology produces a new frame
work for the consideration of astrology.
This research was the subject of Bernadette Brady's masters
dissertation but now she has re written it into this ground
breaking astrological work. The book gives new
insights into the long debate on fate and freewill and
suggest a new position in the argument as to the nature of
astrology. In creating another view in which to consider
astrology Brady also
challenges the daily habits and rituals that give structure to
our lives.

Brady's Book of Fixed Stars by Bernadette Brady
(Paperback Samuel Weiser, USA 1998, 457pages.)Brady's
Book of Fixed Stars is the newest, most complete book on fixed stars since
the publication of Vivian Robson's Fixed Stars and Constellations in
Astrology. In this single volume, Brady provides:
-- Paran Maps and Star Phases for over 60 stars.
-- New insights into the natal use of fixed stars, as well as their use in
mundane astrology.
-- Extensive appendices of Heliacal Rising and Acronychal Setting graphs and
tables to help astrologers find rising or setting dates for any given
location.
-- A listing of 176 stars with their 21st-century Ptolemaic precessed
positions versus their commonly-considered positions based on Ulugh Beg's
methods.
Brady melds modern techniques with Egyptian and early Greek procedures
and mythology so astrologers can apply these techniques to modern chart
interpretation. Her methods open a window on the field of fixed stars,
revealing how a major star in a person's chart indicates the stage of life
in which it is active, and how it reveals the person's life journey through
the mythology that the star represents. |

Star and Planet Combinations by Bernadette Brady
(Paperback, Wessex Astrologer, UK 2008, 261pages. )
Back Cover: This is a much needed textbook on fixed stars and their
relationship to the natal planets. Bernadette Brady has a mission - and that
mission is to draw astrologers closer to the foundations of their art,
bringing the glory and magnitude of the fixed stars into every day
astrology, where she firmly believes they belong. With our light-polluted
skies and busy lives, it is easy to practise a form of astrology where we
never actually look out at the stars or planets - and in doing so the author
shows that we lose vital astrological information about our natal
relationship to the heavens.
This book offers rare material on the detailed
interpretations of an individual's natal heliacal rising and setting stars;
these stars yeild insight into the nature of one's soul and spiritual path.
Additionally, the author gives a comprehensive listing of the meaning of
every major star (64 in all) when combined with all the planets and nodal
axis, for the natal as well as predictive use. |

by Bernadette Brady (Paperback, Samuel Weiser, USA 1999, 367 pages.)
First
published in 1992 as The Eagle and the Lark - A textbook of Predictive
Astrology, the book was so well-received it was republished in 1999
with the title Predictive Astrology - The Eagle and the
Lark. In 1999 Predictive Astrology won the Inaugural Spica Award
from the UK for the best astrological book of 1999.
Review
Bernadette Brady has a gift for expressing the mathematically complex
in poetic terms that turn angles and orbits into a celestial ballet.
Predictive Astrology covers all the basics - transits, progressions, and
houses - while unlocking the bewildering secrets of eclipses. In a
seamless dialogue of logic and intuition, Brady encourages us to look beyond
the basic blueprint of the natal chart and peek into the future. Her view
of fate doesn't condemn a person to a set path in life, allowing the
astrologer who carefully balances logic and intuition to better prepare
her clients for the challenges fate has in store - Brian
Patterson
Also available in Dutch, Portuguese,
Russian, and Bulgarian and in 2009 in German.
